Meffert's 4x4 Review

By Neil Skaria

About two weeks ago I purchased a “Meffert’s White 4x4”, and was blown away. So I decided to create this review on the cube. At this point in time I am convinced that this is the best 4x4 available. It dropped my times by two minutes. I used to hate 4x4, now I love it. It kills the Eastsheen in every category!!

Initial Reactions

Right out of the box, with no lubrication or breaking-in, it is amazingly smooth, and cuts corners. For a 4x4, Cutting corners is a rare quality. The tiles it comes with are glued down strongly; I don’t think they will ever come off. The tiles are very thick, and bulky. But they are better than CubeSmith tiles. In one corner of every side is the Meffert’s Logo which says “Meffert’s Challenge.”

This cube can be purchased from: http://sites.webec.com.hk/meffert/index.cfm?fuseaction=detail&id=1021129&product=263

Altogether, my order cost me $20 ($18 for the cube, and $2 Shipping). Shipping was very fast; it took about a week and a half. It came in a sturdy box filled with bubble wrap.

Comparison to Eastsheen 4x4

This cube is a good size for me in comparison to the Eastsheen. Eastsheen’s are made for smaller hands. Eastsheen’s also overturn for me, and they are too fragile. Mine broke so I ordered this Meffert’s Cube. I am so happy I broke my Eastsheen!!

Conclusion

I would completely recommend his cube to anyone. There are rumors that the white plastic is better than the black plastic on Black Cubes. Don’t waste your time ordering ten 4x4’s, because in the end everyone orders a Meffert’s
